Dancing Marvila

What happens when citizens and dancers team up with MyNeighbourhood? A flash mob and lots of fun!

The Lisbon Pilot recently organised a flash mob to bring music and entertainment to young people and neighbours alike. The concept is based on the belief that dancing can help people integrate and socialise, while also creating a sense of community that goes beyond the group of dancers to include the public as well.

The choreography was developed by Gonçalo, a 25-year old dancer from the Portuguese Company of Contemporary Dance (CPBC) who joined MyNeighbourhood to help the Marvila community have a voice. Gonçalo taught the easy and catchy choreography to the dance students of Prodac Social Center…and they all had lots of fun together!

After rehearsing for some time, dancers, teachers and MyNeighbourhood partners embarked on their adventure and started their flash mob on a CP Train. You can only imagine the surprise of the travellers!
