MyNeighbourhood

FabriQ, the first incubator for social innovative enterprises in Milan and in the whole of Italy, is the ideal place where to admire the photo exhibition “The most beautiful photo of Quarto Oggiaro” (“La più bella foto di Quarto Oggiaro” in Italian). After the exceptional success and interest obtained among the public, the exhibition will continue until the end of April.

Over the years, urban development and socio-economic changes have created an environment where people share the same space, but seem to have lost that spirit of neighbourhood that previous generations knew. An event like the Quarto Oggiaro photo exhibition can therefore be the place where people can come together and meet. All of this was possible thanks to the Platform of the My Neighbourhood project, locally renamed “Vicinato Vicino” ( www.vicinatovicino.it )! The prize ceremony was also the occasion for neighbours to meet and  exchange ideas about the use of the Platform.

Visitors of the gallery will have opportunity to see familiar places of Quarto Oggiaro, through the eyes and hearts of  their neighbours. The pictures make us see the beauty of everyday life and remind us  that there exists a place where it is still possible to protect the environment, give value to diversity, remember the past and observe the present with a special look towards the future…and this place is our Neighbourhood.

The exhibition also showcases the work carried on in Aalborg, Birmingham and Lisbon, where citizens  portrayed the everyday life in their Neighbourhood . Similarly to the winners in the other three EUropean cities, the winner of the photo contest, Mr Mandelli, received a table, allowing him to keep a smart and fast pace when teaching at the local junior high school.
